Penn State student arrested for ‘shoving and biting’ in dormitory

A female Penn State University student was arrested Wednesday for allegedly “shoving” and biting another student while in the dormitory, authorities said.

The University of Pennsylvania Police Department said the woman, identified by police as 18-year-old Emily Tatum, was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. after an incident in a hallway near the Penn State campus.

Tatum was charged with two counts of criminal trespass, two counts misdemeanor reckless endangerment and two counts felony criminal trespass.

She was arraigned Thursday and released on $500,000 bond.

The university said it would have no further comment.

The incident is being investigated by the university’s Office of Institutional Equity, the police department said.
